Agege LG Executive Chairman Visits LASCOCO, Pledges Synergy on Youth Empowerment and Capacity Building.

In a significant move to strengthen institutional collaboration and advance grassroots development, the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Honorable Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, led his management team and legislative council members on an official courtesy visit to the Lagos State Cooperative College (LASCOCO), Oko-Oba, Agege, today, Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

The high-powered delegation was warmly received by the Provost of the College, Dr. Walid Gbadebo Adebosin and the Registrar Mrs. Harrison – Fasakin Senume Omolade, alongside principal officers and staff of the institution.

A Fulfllment of Promises and Mutual Respect

Welcoming the visitors, Dr. Adebosin expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Chairman for honoring his pledge to visit the apex cooperative training institution in the state. He commended the Chairman’s leadership style, describing the visit as a testament to his commitment to education and human capital development.

In his remarks, the Council Manager, Mr. Oshikoya Adesina, conveyed the gratitude of the local government’s management team for the hospitality extended to them. He noted that the visit was highly anticipated, as the leadership of the local government deemed it essential to fulfill its promise to interface directly with the College on its home ground.

 

Responding, Honorable Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa thanked the Provost and the entire college community for their previous visit to the local government secretariat, noting that today’s itinerary was a deliberate reciprocation of that initial engagement to cement working ties.

“Our goal is to ensure that the youths and the good people of Agege are gainfully educated and equipped with relevant vocational and cooperative skills. Partnering with a specialized institution like LASCOCO provides the perfect launchpad for structured empowerment,” the Chairman stated.

Cultural Welcome and Facility Tour

A high point of the reception was a brilliant cultural display by a student of the College, who delivered a moving traditional Yoruba eulogy (Ewi) in honor of the Executive Chairman, praising his developmental strides in Agege.

The visit concluded with an extensive tour of the College’s campus led by the Provost. Guided through the modern lecture halls, administrative offices, and training facilities, Honorable Obasa expressed immense delight at the serene ambience, structural organization, and standard of facilities maintained by the college management.
